Introduction
Moon Portal is an app developed by another team of ours, designed to bring users a unique mixed reality experience. In it, you can explore various virtual environments, use AI to create your own scenes, and even experience the thrill of walking in the sky.
Many users have suggested that we integrate Moon Portal with Moon Player — and today, we’ve finally made that wish come true. With this brand-new feature, you can now import virtual environments from Moon Portal into Moon Player and enjoy an immersive movie-watching experience.
If you already own both Moon Portal and Moon Player, you can transfer AI-generated environments or community-shared environments from Moon Portal into Moon Player and use them as your customized viewing spaces.
If you haven’t downloaded Moon Portal yet, you can click here to get it. Please note that Moon Portal is a standalone app, not a feature or DLC of Moon Player, and therefore needs to be purchased separately.
* The AI scene generation feature is not available in mainland China. Users in mainland China can use scenes shared by the community instead.
How to Share Moon Portal Scenes with Moon Player
If you’re using the latest version of Moon Portal:
The version of Moon Portal currently available in the store is the latest, unless you have manually rolled back to an earlier version.
First, after entering Moon Portal, click the “Theater” icon in the top left corner:
Then you’ll see a pop-up with beginner tips. After reading, click “Try Now” and you can start setting up your custom viewing scene for Moon Player.
If you’re using an older version of Moon Portal:
Here’s how to set up a scene for Moon Player in older versions of Moon Portal.
Step 1
Choose a skybox here, or create a new one under the “Create Skybox” tab.
Your creations will appear in Settings > Creations.
Step 2
Press the A button to save the current skybox to your Quest device.
Step 3
Open Moon Player and set this environment as your video playback background.
