How to Enable External Subtitles for Local Videos
Due to permission limitations, local videos currently do not support external subtitles. We will fix this as soon as possible.
In the meantime, you can move the video and external subtitle files into the Moon Player folder to enable external subtitles:
You can find the video files you just placed in the Moon Player folder under “Imported Videos”:
Please note that you need to place the video and subtitle files directly in the root directory of the ‘Moon Player’ folder. Do not create subfolders within the ‘Moon Player’ folder.
Unable to make MoonLink read external subtitles?
Solution: You need to add the parent folder containing both the subtitle and video files to MoonLink as a whole. This will allow MoonLink to read the external subtitle files.
Reason: This is mainly due to file system permission restrictions. If you only add a single video file to MoonLink, it will only recognize the video file and cannot access the subtitle file in the same directory.
